TOP FIVE MOST EXPENSIVE LOS ANGELES HOME SALES THIS YEAR

Happy New Year’s Eve. Who doesn’t love a year end list? As we look forward to 2015, let’s take a look back at the five most expensive home sales of 2014.

It has been a high-flying year for the Los Angeles real estate market. Wealthy international buyers and deep pocketed Silicon Valley entrepreneurs have pushed the high-end luxury home market ever higher. Over ten homes sold for $30 million in 2014. It wasn’t long ago that a price like that would ensure you topped the list of Most Expensive Homes. But to make our top five this year, you’d have to spend close to $50 million.

Though the Hollywood Hills and Los Feliz also saw plenty of high-end action, all of the richest real estate is still clustered on the Westside. Beverly Hills is as far east as the top sales go. In fact, the majority of the biggest sales were in tiny Holmby Hills, many on the same couple of streets.
