Resolutions for Los Angeles Home Sellers

The people at Trulia.com have released their four New Year’s Resolutions for Home Sellers. Are you planning on selling your Los Angeles home in the New Year? Then, maybe these real estate resolutions can help you accomplish your goal in 2014.

Perform Your Due Diligence

Selling a home is a time consuming and involved process, and it is easy to cut corners. This year, resolve to not cut any corners. Whether you are listing a Holmby Hills house or a West Hollywood house, do everything in your power to do what it takes to sell your house for top dollar. That means interviewing Los Angeles real estate agents, researching comparable sales, looking at your home with an unbiased eye and fixing any problems you find, researching contractors and cleaning your home from top to bottom to name a few.

Stick With the Plan

The process of selling Los Angeles real estate is sometimes long and arduous, and it can be easy to forget why you decided to sell your home in the first place. This year, resolve to stick to your plan and achieve you goal. Fix in your mind why you want to sell your home in Los Angeles – you might even want to write all your reasons down – and resolve to see the process through to the end. Keeping your plan and your goal firmly in mind will help you ignore or fight through all those pesky annoyances that can crop up during the home selling process.

See Things from the Buyer’s Point of View

The buyer is an integral part of any deal. It doesn’t matter if it’s a Bel-Air home or a Holmby Hills house. The buyer makes the final decision. You cannot force someone to buy your house. That’s why it’s so important to keep the buyer in mind as you sell your house. This means not putting any unnecessary hurdles in the way. This doesn’t mean give the buyers everything they want, but do keep in mind what the buyer is going through.

Be Realistic

This is the most important resolution you can make. Being realistic about your home will save trouble along the way. Be realistic about what your home is worth. Be realistic about what repairs you need to make. Be realistic about how long it could potentially take to sell your home. Be realistic about everything, and listen to your realtor.

If you can keep these four resolutions, you will sell your Los Angeles home in 2014.
