Studio City

Originally known as Laurelwood, Studio City is named after the studio lot that was established in the silent film era by movie producer Mark Sennett in 1927, now known as CBS Studio Center at Radford. Conveniently located just over the hill from the Hollywood bustle, is this slower paced yet sophisticated town with tree-lined residential streets and trendy dining in the southeast San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles. Studio City is bordered on the North by Valley Village, to the East by Toluca Lake, to the South by Hollywood Hills and Sherman Oaks to the West. The heart of Studio City on Ventura Blvd at Laurel Canyon Blvd is called the “Silver Triangle”. This lively pedestrian area offers retail shops, stylish gastropubs, small-plate dining, and several famous sushi houses giving it the nick name “sushi row”. In the hills South of Ventura Blvd are three affluent neighborhoods where many celebrities and high-profile people enjoy their privacy which include Wrightwood Estates, The Dona’s and Fryman Canyon. North of Ventura Blvd. consists of several neighborhoods such as Tujunga Village and Colfax Meadows that show a strong sense of community, have some of the best public schools in the city and are dominated by locally owned businesses. Besides the charming shops and restaurants, one of main attractions for visitors is Universal Studios Hollywood. Whether you want to live in a mid-century house on the hill, a classic Spanish in the flats or a new construction Farmhouse on an estate size lot, Studio City has a variety of architecture to select from.
