Design Stars Berkus and Brent Buy in The HOLLYWOOD HILLS

At the base of the Hollywood Hills lies the world famous Sunset Strip and on it, the most infamous hotel in Los Angeles: the Chateau Marmont. Perched on a hillside just behind that notorious haunt is the new west coast residence of mega designers and television hosts Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent.

The married duo of design stars purchased their new Spanish Revival style home for $2.36 million. With four bedrooms, five baths and two “bonus areas” across 3,643 square feet of interior space, the couple has plenty of space to transform with their signature style. It appears Berkus and Brent were seeking a blank slate and they’ve found it in this home. They’re certainly already planning a complete overhaul and renovation, which we will undoubtedly admire in an upcoming interior design magazine.

The property is built in step-style fashion on the sloped grounds. The front entrance is actually down a flight of Spanish tiled stairs, which lead to the inviting living room. Hardwoods and a fireplace compliment the coved style ceilings that extend into the dining room.

French doors open to a dining deck overlooking the pool. This is the first of what the listing calls “7 unique outdoor areas” that range from patios to decks to outdoor cooking areas.

While the kitchen is currently outdated with its terra-cotta floor tiles and white tiled walls and countertops, it offers plenty of space and a nice layout for all of the latest appliances, stone countertops and backsplashes.

Berkus came to fame as Oprah’s design and decorating guru, a platform he used to launch multiple product lines, including a massively successful brand for Target. Brent was first a stylist on “The Rachel Zoe Project” before marrying Berkus and starting his own interior design firm. Both are also currently hosting home related televison shows on NBC and the OWN network, respectively.

Their stunning Washington Square adjacent home in New York City was recently featured in this month’s Architectural Digest.
