Silver Lake’s Sunset Junction located in Los Feliz is undergoing some major changes. Developer Frost/Chaddock surprised nearby residents when they demolished a block of store fronts last September. With paperwork already filed to take down more buildings in the much loved Sunset Junction including the 4100 Bar and the Bates Motel, the people in the neighborhood are already starting to ban together. Some folks are excited about the change stating that the area has become somewhat of a slump while others are angry that places that have been around for years will be gone forever.
The intention is to build more than 300 units of housing along with retail and restaurant space. Their attorney stated that the developer is far from finalizing plans and filing building permits.
