Mount Olympus

Mount Olympus is a prominent neighborhood in the Hollywood Hills area, specifically between Laurel Canyon to the west and Nichols Canyon to the east. It is bounded by Hollywood Boulevard, Laurel Canyon Boulevard, Willow Glen Road, and Nichols Canyon Road. Founded by developer Russ Vincent, the 300 acre development had its ground breaking on June 28, 1963. Mount Olympus is one of the youngest communities of single family residences in the Hollywood Hills. There is a bold ornate sign that stands at the entrance of the Hollywood Hills homes community to greet you with the title “Mt. Olympus”. As the name suggests, the streets are named in accordance after Greek Gods such as Hercules, Venus, Zeus and Achilles. Unlike most neighborhoods in the Hollywood Hills, Mount Olympus is known for having excellent infrastructure due to the city utilities being built underground with wide paved streets and proper sidewalks. A majority of the homes are contemporary and Mediterranean style with over 3,000 interior square feet on larger than average size lots. Construction of many new homes in Los Angeles are built in the Mount Olympus area. Some of the best views of Downtown Los Angeles real estate can be found in this area. Since 1983 Mt. Olympus has been a planned community operated by a Property Owners Association providing 24 hour ADT security patrolling the area in a dedicated car.
