Yesterday on caravan the best house I viewed for the money was 7523 Mulholland Drive in the Hollywood Hills for $1,399,000, just east of Nichols Canyon. Besides the prestigious address, this house is located down a long private drive way off Mulholland leading to a promontory that offers fantastic views overlooking the Valley and a small grassy pad to boot with room for a pool.
This Hollywood Hills home is conveniently located near several different routes to the city including Outpost Estates to Hollywood, Nichols Canyon to the Sunset Strip, the 101Freeway to the Valley and only a short drive to Ventura Blvd in Studio City.
The house was purchased in March 2012 for $753,000 and was in need of some serious TLC. The seller, who purchased it as a “spec” house, performed a tasteful remodel that integrates warm contemporary with rustic mid-century lines.
Needless to say, the house is already in escrow after 11 days and now listed as “Looking for Back-up” in the MLS. I heard through the grapevine that there were about half a dozen offers and the house may have been over bid by 15% to as high as to $1.6 million!
